When you first start having sex, chances are good that it will be pretty basic- ~vanilla~ as the cool kids like to say. You typically don't start your sexual life with a bunch of wacky sex toys or some crazy positions that involve a lot of flexibility and moving around. And that's fine! Sex in the beginning can be tough and confusing. You're still figuring out what you even like, let alone how to do some complicated position you read about in Cosmopolitan. It's simple, but it's sex, so it's probably still fine. Before you jump into doing anything really new, you should take the time to figure out how to orgasm, what you like and don't like, and what your partner is into. Then you can try things like this and this.
But in the meantime, let's focus on the "learning" part of sex that happens in the beginning. Just because you're not 100 percent comfortable with everything sex related yet doesn't mean you have to stick to missionary every single time. There are some basic, easy positions that you can, and should, try to learn some new moves and start spicing things up. Because trust me – missionary can be great, but it can get boring fast. So, here are some sex positions that are great for beginners. Try 'em when you're ready, and let the exploring begin.
Elevated Missionary If you're getting bored but you're nervous about doing anything too crazy, try the elevated missionary position - it's a simple tweak that will definitely make a difference. Slip a pillow under your butt or lower back so that your pelvis tilts upwards. This is a great position for women because the guy can more easily stimulate the clitoris here. On The Edge Now it's his time to prop up some pillows! This is another easy tweak that can make a big difference, and it's also great if you want to try girl on top but you're nervous about it. Have your guy sit at the edge of the bed, then prop up a few pillows so that he's on an angle. Straddle him and put your hands by his shoulders and then go to it.
Chair Sex Sometimes having sex on the same bed every single time can get boring, even if you're doing a few other positions. If you want to make a move but you don't want to do anything too risky, just try having sex on a chair. It's a different spot, but it's just enough of a change.
Doggy Style It's a basic position, but it's a good one! Classic doggy style is basically you kneeling, and him entering you from behind. It's simple and it feels good for everyone. If you haven't done it yet, try it! The Butterfly This is really similar to elevated missionary, but the standing element makes it different. Lay on the edge of the bed so that only your upper body is on the bed. Have your guy stand and put his hands under your hips while your legs straddle him and your ankles rest on his shoulders. It's simple, but the positioning might take a little getting used to.
The Shuttle This is a pretty basic position, but it's a little different than girl on top. Have your guy lay down, and then lay on top of him rather than sitting. Have him bend his knees slightly, then put one of your hands on the floor and one on his chest. He should move you to the rhythm with his hands on your hips or butt.
Spooning Spooning is great if you want to try something new but you're nervous about it. Get into your basic cuddling spooning position, and then have him enter you. Standing Tiger Crouching Dragon This is like a combination of butterfly and doggy style, and again, it's the standing element that makes it a little different. Get on your knees on the very edge of a bed or couch, and have him stand behind you. This time, put your knees together so that his legs are straddling you.
Standing From Behind And one more if you're sick of the bed! Having sex standing up can be tricky, but doing it from behind is a little easier, especially if there's a bit of a height difference. You can do this against a wall or just on your own! Source
